My experience with the MLIS program at San José State University has been one that has shown me the full potential of what it means to be a librarian. I came to the program with technical skills, an organizational mindset, and a willingness to serve others, but I also learned about the importance of passing on a passion for effective use of information for the future and the business side of librarianship that keeps the library running. I believe that my considerations of the competencies set forth by the program, as well as the assignments completed and used as evidence in this project, demonstrate my success in acquiring the knowledge to be a well-rounded member of the librarian community and to serve whichever library will allow me.
